He was educated in Karlobag, Pag, and Sisak, where he completed primary school and a seven-year program. He finished high school in Senj and then studied at the Faculty of Forestry in Zagreb.
He occasionally engaged in literature and journalism. Part of his life he worked at Radio Zagreb. In his critique for the program "Poezija naglas III" on the Artistic Program of Radio Zagreb, Julija Derossi concluded for "Pisme od vitra":
- This particular poetic breviary about the Croatian Velebit winds and their deep connection with the people of the Velebit region is original, diverse, and witty—a successful poetic achievement by a talented individual.
In his poetry, he used the authentic Ikavian and Baška dialects. He was known as a cultural activist and a lover of Karlobag's history. Throughout his life, he documented significant events and customs of the region and actively participated in preserving cultural heritage and local legends.
Slobodan Martin sikic represents an example of a local writer who remained connected to his hometown (Karlobag) and the Velebit foothills, using the linguistic features of the area (Ikavian dialect) in his literary work. This makes him a distinctive voice in regional literature.
Thanks to his efforts, today's generations can experience the richness of Karlobag's history through his writings, which remain lasting testimonies of his work.
He published several poetry collections:
- "Bojni pivac" (Capuchin Monastery, Karlobag, 1996)
- "Ništa lakše" (Capuchin Monastery, Karlobag, 1997)
- "Burenje" (Capuchin Monastery, Karlobag, 1998)
- "Pisme od vitra" (Matica hrvatska, Zadar, 2000)
- "Študij za trutove (satirical compendium)" (Matica hrvatska, Zadar, 2003)
- "Svetro brdo" (Matica hrvatska, Gospić, 2010)
